Navan O’Mahony’s had a comfortable win over Donaghmore/Ashbourne in the opening round of the JBHC in Dunsany on Thursday evening, with Paddy Skehan emulating his Clare idol Tony Kelly.
Both sides scored a point in the opening minutes, with Andrew Snow opening the scoring for O’Mahony’s. Snow added another point in the fourth minute with Brian Dunne, Paddy Skehan Diarmuid Collins, Tom Condon and Declan Tolster all adding points and a goal from Tolster before Donaghmore/Ashbourne added their second score.
Ashbourne added some more frees while Condon and Skehan added some late scores to leave O’Mahony’s with a ten point lead at half time.

It was more of the same in the second half, with O’Mahony’s able to capitalise on their earlier lead. Evan Cully, Barry McEvoy and Jake Patterson all added their name to the scoresheet with green flags and Cully, Dunne, Skehan and Patterson added points.
Navan O’Mahony’s have a bye in round 2 before going on to play Dunderry in the third and final round in the group.
