Navan O’Mahony’s proved too strong for Kilmessan’s second string on Sunday morning in the semi-final of the ICC. In a one-sided affair, Donal Hogan’s charges secured themselves a place in the final.

Kimessan got the first score of the game with a pointed free. With a packed full back line, Kilmessan held O’Mahony’s to four points from Ailbhe Leahy, Cara Ratty, Isabel O’Connor and Lizzy Brennan in the first fifteen minutes.

Leahy put some distance between the sides for the first time in the sixteenth minute, which she followed up with a point in the eighteenth minute. Jorja Keogh added a point before Kilmessan got their second point seven minutes later.

Leahy and Ratty added two goals in a sixty second period to leave the game almost settled before the interval. An injury time point from Kilmessan left twelve points between the sides at half time.

Navan O’Mahony’s made sweeping changes at half time, introducing the maximum number of substitutes allowed and getting game time into as many players as possible ahead of the final.

Ratty got the first score of the half with a pointed free before O’Connor hit a goal and a point from play. Lauren Woods and O’Connor added goals midway through the half.

Further points came from Ratty and O’Connor towards the end of the game, while Laoise McDermott and Annie Hogan all added their name to the team-sheet.

St Peter’s Dunboyne await in the final.
