After a tough battle and a great game of football, the ladies came out on top to make it two from two in the Div 5 FL in serious sunshine on the Trim Road on Sunday morning.

It was the visitors that got off to a great start, scoring a penalty in the opening five minutes and adding three points (two of which were from play) in the next seven minutes. Neasa McDermott got her side onto the scoreboard with a point in the thirteenth minute, with Isabel Thorp following with two points.

Milly Clarke Carolan added a goal (impressively placed in the top corner) and a point in the closing minutes of the half, while St Mary’s responded with a point from play. With seconds left on the clock, Thorp picked her spot and drove the ball to the roof of the net, giving O’Mahony’s the lead at the break.
